Paper-Collage Explainer ad template

Paper-Collage Explainer is a cut-paper explainer in four beats of about seven seconds each, with one calm narrator: the problem, why it happens, the product's reveal and the payoff. It is made of torn and hand-cut paper on a warm off-white background, black shapes and one accent colour taken from your product, with the product as a crisp paper cutout that still matches the real package.

Made by the Krust team for Brite Blood Orange, as the example for the Paper-Collage Explainer template. Animated, no real person on screen. 30 s, 9:16.

What happens, beat by beat

These are the template's beats. The example above was made by the Krust team in the same look, so its cut differs a little.

1

The problem0–7 s

The problem moment the buyer knows, as a paper-collage figure in a paper world. No product yet.

2

Why it happens7–14 s

One simple paper metaphor for the cause. Still no product.

3

The reveal14–21 s

The product arrives as a crisp paper cutout, centred, the accent colour blooming around it.

4

The payoff21–28 s

The same figure after, the product beside them, a paper hand reaching for it.

Who is on camera, and why

No presenter: paper figures carry the story and one AI narrator voice explains it, in the language of the market you pick. Nobody on screen is meant to look real.

Settings you can pick

The look is fixed: this template films in the style you see in the example. The story, the lines and the product change on every run.

Who it suits

Products whose problem and reason each fit in one sentence: a drink, a supplement, a household fix, a small gadget. Editorial and calm rather than loud, so it suits brands whose feed already looks considered.

Why it works

Explainer graphics slow the viewer down just enough to follow one idea. Taking the one accent colour from your own packaging ties the whole film to the product before it even appears. In the example above, made by the Krust team for Brite, the accent is the can's red.

Good to know

  • The accent colour comes from your product, so a photo with the real packaging colours matters more than a lifestyle shot.
  • The template keeps the product out of the first two beats: they set up the problem and its cause, which is what makes the reveal land. The team's example above brings the can in a beat early and shows the real can on paper rather than a cutout.
  • There are no people on screen, only paper figures, so there is no casting step and no likeness to think about.
  • It suits a calm, considered brand. If your feed is loud and fast, a talking-head format will feel more native.

Two example hooks

"It's 3 p.m. and [the problem moment your buyer knows]."

Example hook

"Here's why that happens: [the cause, in one plain sentence]."
